1. Weather forecaster is the safest job ever. You can get the forecast completely wrong and still hold your job.
  2. Scottish accent is cute.
  3. Cupcakes can be almost as addicting as coffee.
  4. When there’s Nutella in the house, your self-control is at high risk of going to sleep without your body (analogy courtesy of Jason Isaacs).
  5. Pens must be banned from address books. Pencils are very welcome. When your pocket address book is too messy, scribbled, names and numbers changed, crossed out and so on, you have to buy another address book and fill it in. This is when you realise that there possibly isn’t a most boring thing to do.

    1) Weather forecasting is impossible as you are only predicting the effects of potential weather based on past factors, so it is more of a proactive (reactive to past events) science.

    2) Get a Scotsman or Scots woman to say the word, “Squirrel”. It will increase the cuteness of the accent to the power of three.

    3) The only addictive part of the cupcake is the top part, it is a bit like eating the bulging top of a muffin and then leaving the other part as you are too full.

    4) Yes, I agree, but the Nutella tends to be a little runny in the Northern Hemisphere in the summer months.

    5) You can either go with an electronic address book or not have one at all. If you have an address book with pen scribblings and scribbling outs, it can be shown in a modern art gallery.

  2. 1) You are paid to take guesses/semi-guesses. While brokers and “financial gurus” are still the best ones around in terms of making a profit out of taking guesses, I guess weather forecasters don’t risk to be fired if predictions aren’t true :P

    2) I’ll definitely have to hear that, hahaha…

    3) Very, very true. It’s all in the icing/frosting!

    4) A friend of mine store Nutella in the fridge. It effectively tames any Nutella craving.

    5) I have the address book on the laptop, synchronised with the iPhone. Very practical and it feels quite geeky, the whole sync’ing with the various gadgets… But I only store phone numbers and emails there. The snail mail addresses are still in the paper address book. My way to hold on to the non-digital era ;-)
