Last week I was shopping and passed by the DVD dept. in a supermarket. I decided to have a look at the titles and to my surprise I found “The Shipping News”. I remember reading great reviews on the film. I even remember that during one of my flights to the US, walking up & down the aisle to avoid losing completely the sensibility of my legs, a passenger was reading the book and I thought ‘yes, I really have to go see that film’. But then for some reason I never had the chance to go see it. So the other day I bought the DVD, one of the few original DVDs we can find here in Ecuador. I absolutely loved the film: very deep, moving story. I recommend it, amazing Kevin Spacey and Judi Dench.
Then yesterday night I was wandering on the cable TV channels (yes, it IS true: in spite of the number of channels, most of the times there’s nothing on) and ended watching “An Unfinished Life”, another beautiful Lasse Hallström’s film. Well, I have to confess that I really like Robert Redford, and also Morgan Freeman; while I was curious to see J-Lo in a Drama role. Eventually, I really liked the film and also recommend it if you like dramas.
So… later I started thinking ‘is there a movie of his that I do not like?!’ I liked “Chocolat”. I liked “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape”. I liked “Something to talk about”. I loved “The Cider House Rules”.
Okay so, Sara likes Hallström’s films. And now that you that, people, you can sleep better
