Last week I was looking for a pair of sandals to wear at my graduation ceremony and I walked past a music store. They had all sort of imported stuff so I started looking here and there, to see if they had rare DVDs or albums. When I reached to the vinyls section I cracked myself up: they had Don Johnson’s album “Let It Roll”, with duets with other singers, one of them is Barbra Streisand. Holy skunk, where the heck did they get that?! Let’s see how much they ask for it: 1 euro. ONE euro!!! (not even 1.50 dollars, go figure) Okay, I have to buy this. I doubt I’ll ever find it anywhere else. And then I had a look at the other vinyls for 1 euro. I found a nice one from Billy Joel so… I can’t believe it. I got those 2 rare vinyls for 2 euros! My brother joined me at the store a little later, he asked what I had found and it made him laugh. Thing is, I think none of Don Johnson’s albums has never been released in Italy. So we were both pretty surprised, like when you hang around at flea markets and find some wacky thing. (*)
I looked for some info online coz I’m no DJ’s discography ultimate fan, and I found out that this album was first released in 89 and is out of print since 90 something. Anyway, the funny thing is… the vinyl player is packed somewhere in the garage and I’ll have to wait a month or so to be able to use it, when I will have moved to the new house. Woo hoo!
(*) Disclaimer: Mr. Johnson, we don’t mean that your music is “wacky”. It’s just that your albums are, lets say, unusual to see here in Italy.
